Tightening the russ rod on this 1960 Kay flat top didn't have any effect on the straightness of the neck. The rod itself was turning in the neck. In order to fix this, the fingerboard needed to be removed.

The fingerboards on these old Kays were glued on with hot hide glue. With heat, a little moisture, and a lot of patience, the fingerboard came right off.
